Wheat germ oil is the richest natural source of vitamin E and has a particularly high content of alpha-tocopherol, the biologically most active form of vitamin E.
Oil isn’t the same as oil
The vitamin E content of vegetable oils varies greatly:
| Dr. Metz Wheat germ oil | 200 mg |
| Thistle oil | 75 mg |
| Sunflower oil | 55 mg |
| Soy oil | 15 mg |
| Olive oil | 13 mg |
| Walnut oil | 3 mg |
Dr. Metz-wheat germ oil is cold pressed but not otherwise processed. It therefore contains all the valuable substances found in the ripe wheat germ such as vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol), carotenoids and lecithin. It is particularly valuable due to its high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids. These are important in our metabolism and cannot be made by our body.
Why is natural vitamin E from wheat germ oil more effective?
Synthetic production of vitamin E has been technically possible for a long time now. Synthetic vitamin E products, however, usually only contain certain variants of the vitamin and don’t provide the whole range of beneficial effects of the natural vitamin E complex. Natural vitamin E is biologically more active by about 50 %.
