Heinrich Metz (1899-1988)
Together with the internationally renowned Professor Emil Abderhalden (University of Halle/Saale), the agriculturist and biologist Heinrich Metz researched into the clinical usage of brewer’s yeast. Metz developed special production methods for Panaktiv® to make vitamin rich brewer’s yeast bioavailable to us in cellular liquid form. Panaktiv® proved to be very valuable in hospital nutrition. Heinrich Metz founded his own production company in 1950.
Metz was the first company to produce brewer’s yeast in its natural cellular liquid form and launch it as a highly effective dietary supplement.
Dr. Holger Metz (born 1937)
In 1967, Dr. Holger Metz, microbiologist and biochemist set about expanding the company. In addition to the liquid brewer’s yeast Panaktiv® for nutritional purposes, he developed a formula for the production of a skin care product based on brewer’s yeast.
New products specially designed to contribute to healthy nutrition were now added to the range of the goods offered by the company.
As well as his work on research and development, he has always taken a great interest in informing and advising our customers about all our products.
With their profound knowledge of nutritional science, nutritional medicine, biochemistry and food technology, Dr. Kathrin Metz-Müller (born 1968) and Philipp Metz (born 1973) have led Dr. Metz KG into the third generation.
Dr. Kathrin Metz-Müller, nutritional scientist, was awarded her doctorate under the tutelage of Professor Huth, internist and diabetologist as well as former chief physician in Frankfurt. Philipp Metz also graduated in nutritional science in the department of Professor Leitzmann at the University of Giessen.
